SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) calculates the energy efficiency of a dwelling and in turn demonstrates compliance with Part L of The Building Regulations. A SAP assessment is required for all new build domestic dwellings, extensions with excessive glazing (more than 25% of the extension floor area) and in some cases conversions/change of use.
What Is SAP?
What Information Is Required?
Floor plans, elevations, sections along with the construction and services specification. Using the plans and specification we model the dwelling(s) within the software.
When Should the SAP Assessment Be Completed?
It is essential for “design stage” calculations to be completed prior to any works starting on site. This way we can ensure compliance from the outset, making changes (if required) as the project progresses. Having the calculations completed once works have started or upon project completion could prove costly with retrospective works being required.
What if The Proposed Specification Fails?
Well, first of all, don’t panic. We will provide you with the most cost effective solution to overcome this and achieve compliance.
